The bustle of everyday life dies down, and the only pressing thought is whether you should order an entree or head straight for dessert. As part of the River Oaks community and a supporter of the arts, the cafe's lively decor is always evolving; the walls act as an informal gallery, where local artists can display their original work for sale.

Epicure Café is there for you; whether you are picking up pastries or ordering lunch, the servers are both friendly and helpful, the food is prepared with the freshest ingredients, and everything is made daily as well as from scratch. Once you try their famous Berry Lemonade, homemade ice cream and sorbet, or any of the array of pastries, you won't be able to stay away; many customers have frequented the establishment for over a decade. "I love this place," said long-time customer Michael Sellers. "I come here all the time. The food's great, the atmosphere reminds me of Europe, and it's just so relaxing."

Epicure Café has been around since May 1990. Brothers Amir and Khan opened it jointly, bringing recipes and experience from all over Europe together in a culmination of unique desserts and dishes. The latter even studied in Vienna, Austria, before receiving the title of Konditormeister, or Master Baker. "Bringing this taste to America had been a dream of mine for a long time," Khan remembers.
